We start Week 4 and Day 16 by shifting our focus to functions. We’ll build on complexity these two weeks to look at more advanced function characteristics and tools.
The first four video lessons are a refresher about functions. You can safely skip these first four lessons, which are labelled optional, as they cover the basics. They’re presented here for those who would prefer to review these topics before building on them.
00:00 Welcome to week four. This week and next week we’re going to focus on functions. Now, functions are a central part, not just of Python, but of any modern programming language.

But this, you know already, and in fact we’re going to start today, you might, you may notice that some of the first lessons are marked as optional because these are things that you already know, and I’ve put them there because over these two weeks, we’re going to start with what you already know with functions and then build on that bit by bit and add complexity.
