It’s Day 27. Tuples are everywhere in Python but you don’t always notice them. Sets, on the otherhand, are less common and can be forgotten at times.
Today, we’ll start with topics you already know and then move on to less common data structures. It’s fine to choose your pace as you go through topics you’re familiar with—perhaps you want to go faster through the first few lessons—but see the note in the next lesson about the lists and tuples video lessons.
00:00 You explored mutable and immutable types, and today we’re going to look at some of the core data structures in Python, some of which are mutable, some of which are immutable. Lists, you’re very familiar with. Tuples also, and tuples appear everywhere in Python, even when you don’t think they’re there.
00:17 A reminder that tuples are defined by commas, so whenever you have two things separated by a comma, they’re a tuple, so they are everywhere in Python. Less common, but still very useful in certain situations are sets and then frozen sets if you want an immutable version of the set.
