Bokeh Course: Section 3 Overview
This video is an overview of what is covered in section 3.
In this section, you’ll touch on five ways that you can add interactivity:
- Configuring the toolbar
- Selecting data points
- Adding hover actions
- Linking axes and selections
- Highlighting data using the legend
For additional information on all things interaction in Bokeh, Adding Interactions in the Bokeh User Guide is a great place to start.
00:00 Welcome to an overview of Section 3. You’ll start by configuring the toolbar, and how to decide which tools you’d like to include in it. You’ll start using those tools to select data points—all those glyphs inside your visualizations. Next, how to add hover actions as you hover over the glyphs to bring up popups that can show you additional information about the points of your data.
00:29 And then building on top of that, how to emphasize those hover inspections. After that, you’ll learn about linking axes and how multiple visualizations can be tied together as your users scroll across the data.
00:45 And then how to link selections between one visualization and another.
00:52 And last, using that legend either to hide the data
00:59 or to mute it. And then finally, a Bokeh course recap and review. Let’s get started.
