Real Python Live
Free, informal live sessions for anyone who enjoys Python
Real Python Live is a weekly get-together on Zoom. It’s free and open to everyone. It’s more like friends meeting up to chat about Python than a lecture, so bring your questions, your opinions, and your code, and join in whenever you like. Can’t make it onto Zoom? Each session is also streamed live on several social media platforms.
Each week brings a different topic and a different format. One week we might try out new Python features in the REPL. Another, we might build something small with an AI assistant and then review its code together, read through the source code of a popular library, or run a quiz night where the wrong answers get the most attention. Some weeks there’ll be a guest to chat with, and some weeks the room decides what we build next.
I'm Stephen Gruppetta from the Real Python team, and I'll be hosting these sessions. I hope you'll come along and say hello!

Does a Better Prompt Really Help? Two Agents, Two Prompts, One Task

We'll give two AI coding agents the same Python task and run them side by side. One gets a short, quick prompt, and the other gets a carefully thought-out one. Then we'll compare what each one produces, to see what the extra effort really changes and when it makes no difference at all.
AI Agents Aren't Magic: Let's Build One in Plain Python

AI agents can look like magic, but underneath there's a surprisingly small amount of Python. We'll build a working agent from an empty file. Along the way, you'll take over the agent's job for a while: when the AI asks to do something, the room decides whether to let it, refuse, or tell it something that isn't true. Then we'll see how a few lines of code turn a chatbot into an agent.
