Prompts on a page help, but a curious person asking follow-up questions helps more. In this session, Mentor AI interviews you about your experience and helps you expand your inventory with things you’d forgotten or dismissed.
The session takes about twenty-five minutes and has two parts:
- Warm-up with a sample candidate (optional): Mentor AI plays a sample candidate, a QA engineer with a five-line inventory from five years of work. You ask the questions and try to double their list. It’s a quick way to get a feel for how good prompts work.
- Your own inventory: Then you switch roles. Mentor AI asks you questions about your past, one area at a time, and you write the new lines yourself.
Have your career profile card from profile.md ready to paste, plus your inventory.md and requirements_map.md if you’ve started them. If you haven’t started an inventory yet, that’s okay! You can begin from scratch.
You’ll leave with a longer inventory and a short list of the questions that helped you recall the most, so you can reuse them the next time you update your inventory. Mentor AI won’t judge or rank your items during the session, even if you ask. Choosing comes in the next lesson.
