Writing a story on your own is one thing. When someone asks “And what did you do?” or “How do you know?” your story either holds up or wobbles. In this session, Mentor AI coaches you through your achievement stories the way a good mentor would, with questions rather than rewrites.
The session takes about thirty minutes and has two parts:
- Warm-up with a sample candidate: You get a flat story about a code migration, much like the first draft in the last lesson. Mentor AI plays the developer who wrote it, and you ask the questions that turn it into a real story without inventing anything.
- Your own stories: Then you work on two or three stories from your own story bank. Mentor AI checks the shape, hunts for missing actions and results, and asks the follow-ups an interviewer would ask.
Get a few things ready to paste. You’ll need your career profile card, the top rows of your requirements_map.md, and your story_bank.md drafts. If you haven’t written a story yet, bring your inventory.md, and you’ll write the first one together.
You’ll draft every story yourself. Mentor AI asks questions and gives hints, but it won’t write your stories for you or suggest a number or detail you didn’t give it. After you’ve written a solid draft, it can suggest a few line edits in your voice.
