CodeGeeX is a multilingual family of open-weight code-generation models and a free IDE assistant, providing code completion, generation, and cross-language translation for developers.

Newer models support long-context chat, function calling, repository-level Q&A, and optional local deployment. Recent extension releases add an agent mode along with inline chat, code review, and unit-test generation, and route requests to Zhipu’s GLM models.

Official extensions are available for integrated development environments (IDEs), such as Visual Studio Code and JetBrains.
